The wrapping angle is generally 40-50o, and the overlap rate is generally 30-50%; Before extruding the insulation, use suitable packaging to prevent dust, moisture or damage, and prevent bumps during handling.

Application comparison of synthetic mica tape and film-reinforced mica tape The type of mica and reinforcing material used for synthetic mica tape and film-reinforced phlogopite tape are different, and the adhesive may be the same. According to the use of the two kinds of mica tapes at home and abroad, we can make the following comparisons:
(1) The tensile strength of the synthetic mica tape is higher than that of the film-reinforced phlogopite tape. If the winding tension is properly controlled, the tape will not be broken during wrapping.
(2) The softness of synthetic mica tape is slightly worse than that of film-reinforced phlogopite tape, and it is most suitable for the wrapping of wire and cable conductors of 1mm2 and above with a large amount of application, and the wrapping speed is slow; while film-reinforced phlogopite tape It is very suitable for high-speed wrapping of special wire and cable conductors below 1mm2, but requires a special wrapping machine.
(3) The synthetic mica tape is generally reinforced on both sides, and the mica layer is not easily scratched during the wrapping process, while the mica layer of the film-reinforced mica tape is easily scratched.
(4) In the process of wrapping the synthetic mica tape, because it does not contain toxins, the operator does not need to take special anti-virus measures; and when using the film to reinforce the phlogopite tape, labor protection precautions need to be taken.
(5) The synthetic mica tape will not melt when the sample is stopped and the deviation is adjusted before extruding the insulation; while the film-reinforced phlogopite tape will melt at this time, and a bare conductor with a length of several meters needs to be reserved for extrusion deviation adjustment. cause waste.
(6) Synthetic mica tapes have lower requirements for conductor surface smoothness, while thin-film reinforced phlogopite tapes have higher requirements.
(7) The synthetic mica tape can be used to manufacture qualified fire-resistant cables with ordinary wrapping equipment. However, even if the film-reinforced phlogopite tape is used with foreign advanced wrapping equipment, it is difficult to manufacture Class A fire-resistant cables.
(8) The price of synthetic mica tape is low, the manufacturing cost of fire-resistant wire and cable is low, and the profit is rich; while the price of film-reinforced phlogopite mica tape is expensive, which increases the cost of wire and cable products and relatively low profit.
According to the above comparison, it is not difficult to see that the thin-film reinforced mica tape, no matter how it is reinforced, is still just a very common B-grade refractory material. Practice has proved that my country's newly invented A-grade refractory synthetic mica tape is more reliable and more affordable in practical applications, so it is more popular in the wire and cable manufacturing industry at home and abroad.
